Women and Creativity
“Women and Creativity” is a class in which university students explore the philosophical, artistic, and biographical dimensions of women’s creativity in a wide variety of fields. The final is a creative project chosen by each student to explore the creative process.
The Creative Process
“The Creative Process” explores the theory and the experience of the creative process. Students will read both essays on the process of creative activity and examples of its product. The last assignment is a personal creative project.

Writing Life Stories
“Writing Life Stories” is for adults who wish to capture their family history in story form. A beginning course, attendees will learn the basics of storytelling, workshop ideas, and some brainstorming techniques to get them started. The last session will provide a brief overview of self-publishing, a growing industry that allows anyone to with a computer to design e-books to distribute to friends and family.
Tornado Tales
“Tornado Tales“ is for teens and adults interested in learning more about tornado safety and storm chasing in southwest Virginia. From the dangerous myths surrounding tornadoes to truths about how to remain safe in tornadic weather, this class will give a basic understanding of safety precautions and tornado facts. It will also cover steps people can take to be involved in storm chasing, storm spotting, and meteorology in general. Attendees will be given a list of resources for continued learning.
